York and Chester Eyecatchers 20/08/20

We have lost Windsor….I thought we might and produced no work at all for that place. Post Racing subscribed members enjoyed a lovely 12/1 top rated winner in the shape of LADY IN FRANCE yesterday and I’ve produced figures for a pair at York again today. That looks crash hot again today, class racing all afternoon…I just hope it’s not as difficult finding the winners!

In the Lowther at 1-45pm, the market seems to have settled on SACRED. She opened 3/1 and is now 2/1, having touched 15/8. There was a massive overnight move for UMM KULTHUM – 25/1 > 6/1….now 13/2 but it did hit 5/1 a little earlier and those wanting the big prices, have them.

The 2-15pm is very competitive and it could be DEVIOUS COMPANY is short enough at 2/1. A few at bigger prices are attracting attention, most notably UNCLE JUMBO – 10/1 > 7/1 and BILLIAN – 16/1 > 11/1….he was impressive second time up, improving to beat one that had beaten him, the week previous.

Not a race I’ll personally get involved in but perhaps those fancying a three horse dutch might obtain a bit of profit playing that trio.

TOP RANK is very strong at the head of the market at 2-45pm….I’m looking forward to seeing him! My top rated in this, OUZO, was 22/1 > 14/1 but now trades 16/1 and in all honesty, nothing is being backed to beat the Tate horse. In fact, the three tissue leaders all look solid….TOP RANK, MONTATHAM and SIR BUSKER, who looked an unlucky loser last time out.

If the LOVE we’ve seen all season long turns up at 3-15pm, then Coolmore trouser another £141,775 because nothing else in that race can win it, if she does.

Those listening in to the Post Racing Podcasts know I think a lot of the form shown in a race run on heavy ground at Doncaster last season, when DOMINO DARLING beat GOLD WAND. The latter trades favourite for the 3-45pm event but it does look wide open. We have three trading co-favourites as I type, GOLD WAND, SEA OF FAITH, ALBAFLORA. I’d certainly be favouring the 3-y-o’s as nine of the last 10 running’s of this went to that age group and I’ll have a 20/80 GOLD WAND.

A nursery at 4-20pm and the morning money has been for MARK OF THE MAN – 7/1 > 5/1. Obviously, they are all open to improvement but the favourite and third favourite are both easing slightly. I’ll go 20/80 the Hannon runner.

My figures for the final race on the card look suspect and that’s simply because I’m trying to produce a handicap figure for 3-y-o’s like LAWAHED and AMBER STORM, who currently head the market. I’m going 20/80 the last named simply because she has been “catching the eye” in the market – 8/1 > 5/1….and she is in my top three.

I am really looking forward to this meeting. My figures and Market Movers marry up superbly and in the opener, I’m seeing a juvenile being smashed in from 25/1 > 10/1….GLITTERBOX GIRL. I’d suggest a dutch with ICONIC QUEEN. The second they go better than even money about that one, it’s taken.

In the 4-25pm it’s the spears being picked up. BROKEN SPEAR – 11/2 > 4/1 and TRIPLE SPEAR – 18/1 > 11/1 and they sit 4th and 5th best on my figures. and in my opinion, it’s BROKEN SPEAR who looks best drawn in three. The draw is vital here and if you cop for a box higher than six, in these sprint affairs, you might as well stop in the horse box. I like ORVAR of my top three and I’ll most likely dutch him with those spears.

The market and my figures are in complete harmony at 4-55pm and I’ll have no issue playing a two horse dutch, rated horses 1 & 3.

HEREBY is the one punters want at 5-25….he has been attracting support since the markets opened last night….9/2 > 11/4….20/80 for me, to pocket a profit.

Nothing is being backed to take on the front pair on the tissue at 6-00 and so I’ll dutch SPRIGHT with VENTURA VISION. Everything else is on the drift.

The 3-y-o’s are being punted to win the 6-30, RAYONG 5/1 > 3/1, with my second highest rated horse, BRAD THE BRIEF, having been knocked into 4/1 from an opening 9/1. I’ll just go dutch that pair.

Sometimes a horse jumps off the page at you and LIHOU did that when I started working on the 7-00pm here. Those working this market have also latched on and he’s 4/1 > 13/8. I’ll not bother dutching here….straight win that one of David Evans.

BOSSIPOP opened 3/1 last night….you’ll be lucky to get 13/8 now. Top rated on my figures, too and it’s 8/1 bar the Easterby runner. No dutch….straight win for me.

The paper favourite for this has been taken out and that has led to the market hoisting it’s pants and adjusting itself. Plenty of money has come for CAMOUFLAGED but I cannot see it winning (sorry, I simply could not let that one go!), 9/1 > 5/1 is more than just “adjustment”…..I’ll go 20/80 expecting the place portion to get me a profit as that favourite, FUTURE INVESTMENT, does look solid @ 15/8.

Best of luck today!
