A very quiet day for “eyecatchers” – 21/08/20

We will have days like this, just as we will have days like yesterday, when nothing goes wrong…well, very little, anyway. We had winners pouring off this pages yesterday and all those reading should have won something….so how about a small donation? It is donations that will keep this site running….no subscriptions, purely donations. Someone yesterday enjoyed a the play you see below and made a donation of 10% of his winning and that’s what I’m hoping everyone using the information they receive from this place, to do.

Rich kindly made a donation of £40 shortly after that last winner was being washed down!

I am going to start with Salisbury because York is not offering me anything, as I type.

In the 12-20pm race, I’m seeing a move for MOONSHINER. Last night he opened 9/1, drifted to 10/1, and that saw punters looking to get on….now just 6/1. The tissue favourite, TWILIGHT SONG, has eased very slightly from evens to 6/5.

I’d happily go 20/80 MOONSHINER.

Division one of the Class 5 next and in that 12-50pm event, it’s the Richard Hughes trained OLD NEWS, wearing first time blinkers, that punters are latching on to. He is now 3/1 having opened 9/2 but how can you evaluate the form of a horse whose last win came at a track in Stockholm, called Bro Park? Before that, its only win came in a Class 5 at Windsor, on debut, when it won at 33/1. A no bet race for me!

I advised my subscribed membership at Post Racing, in their morning Newsletter, that two horses were being bet in the 1-25pm….LATE ARRIVAL – 9/4 > 13/8 and ARAFI – 13/2 > 11/2….both are still the only horses attracting money….now evens favourite and 9/2 respectively, and it is 9/1 bar the two.

In my New Edge Newsletter section, I mentioned a horse called SOFT WHISPER, who runs in the 1-55pm race. The market wants him….4/1 > 11/4….I’ll not get involved here but expect the Godolphin runner to go very close.

The 2-25pm is the first of two Rated races from Salisbury, sent out this morning to Post Racing subscribed members. It is a race impossible to work accurately because it is top heavy with unexposed juveniles and it is one of those, my bottom rated, CALATRAVA, being punted….15/2 > 5/1. The only thing I’d be certain of is, a 3-y-o will most likely win it….but which one?

The market says CALATRAVA.

Two are being supported against the odds on favourite (my top rated), in the 3-25 and WHELANS WAY – 9/2 > 10/3 plus SECRETFACT – 10/1 > 7/1, look place plays only, as opposed to serious challengers for the winners enclosure.

POSTILIO was the early mover in the 3-55pm 4/1 > 3/1….now 5/2 but I’m now seeing money for CHEZ HANS – 6/1 > 5/1….steady money and that horse was also given a mention in the New Edge section of my morning Post Racing Newsletter. I’d suggest a two horse dutch produces a profit.

The amateur jocks race at 4-25pm is about as attractive from a betting perspective, as would be a frontal lobotomy. I am seeing money again for one mentioned in my New Edge section, RAGSTONE VIEW….8/1 > 6/1 and the bloke on board can race ride….but not a betting race for me.

At York the only race I have anything to say about on here is ASIAAF. She was a market mover overnight, again advised to Post Racing subscribed members. It had opened 11/4, came in to 9/4 and is now trading 2/1 and rock solid, too. Everything else is drifting and I had a small straight win bet early doors.

Dont forget to tune in to the Post Racing Podcast from around 4-00pm this afternoon. Plenty to discuss and hopefully a winner or two for the weekend ahead.

Best of luck this afternoon!
