It’s like going to a fancy restaurant!

Right now, because of the cordon bleu meal that is York, I’m personally left feeling very hungry for more, come the end of a racing day. A normal Saturday would see me producing figures for 10 races minimum, a host of OMM’s and my needing three heads and six arms to work the Exchanges as I normally would do.

The portion sizes are small….perfectly formed, but small. I watch Masterchef and think, “very creative but where is the portion to fill you?”

Fancy food is all very well, and very nice, but give me a Sunday roast any day of the week, my punting plate piled high with meat, spuds, broccoli, mashed carrots and turnip, roast parsnips, and I’m much more satisfied.

I’m not a “Group race man”, I’m into my handicaps and working out who is doing what, where, and when. I like scouring the markets looking for clues connections are dropping and as good as the likes of Battaash and Ghaiyyath are, they don’t put food on my plate.

I’ve just three Rated races that have gone out to my Post Racing subscribed members and for a Saturday, that is poor. I feel like I’m cheating them.

I can only work with what I have though and today, we’ve just two flat meeting to look through and I’ll start with Sandown.

CITY CODE was advised to my subscribed members earlier, as the one for money in that 12-55pm opening event. Into 2/1 from an opening 7/2, he has eased slightly to 9/4 but he’s still strong. The only other horse interesting punters in this race is AUSSIE STORMER but he’s not a “mover”, more fluctuating. A steady 3/1 now and he looks the danger.

Since my morning Newsletter went out, DOC SPORTELLO, my third highest rated horse and in my own dutch, has seen support, into 6/1 from 8/1 but this is one of those races full of horses that win rarely and winning two on the bounce would cause them a nose bleed. I’ll just play my dutch and leave it at that, even though it is nice to see one of those I’ve already punted, attracting support.

I mentioned to members earlier today that NEW CHAPTER and COZONE were looking strong and both are still moving. I can also report a move for LUIGI VAMPA, 9/1 > 6/1, so you have the potential for a dutch right there and I’ll most likely go down that road.

The 2-40pm looks a brilliant race and extremely competitive, too. They currently go 5/1 the field but again, we have three now attracting support, since folk got up. ENIGMATIC – 15/2 > 5/1, MARRONIER – 10/1 > 6/1 – and GIN PALACE – 12/1 > 15/2. This is the second of my Rated races here and I’m pleased to see my top rated horse interesting punters but also my fourth highest rated now “moves” and to do my best to secure a profit here, I’ll include ENIGMATIC in a four horse dutch.

An indicator as to just how competitive it is today, I advised members of three movers in the 3-15pm race and two of them are still on the move. MATTHEW FLINDER now trades 4/1 having been advised 6/1 > 9/2, and MAKRAM is now 7/1, having been advised 10/1 > 15/2.

I’ve dutched again.

DREAM WORLD (3-55pm), was 7/1 > 6/1 overnight and now trades around the 11/2 mark. He would be the only play here, based on the tissue….20/80.

The Martin Meade trained STATEMENT was heavily punted overnight 13/8 > 6/5 and is now 11/10 but the Godolphin runner, CREATIVE FLAIR, is crashing in….15/2 > 4/1. I’ll dutch this pair to make a profit.

We finish this meeting with an Apprentice Handicap over 10 furlongs and I’d highlighted the fact that the Roger Fell runner, SUCELLUS, was being very well supported….12/1 > 7/1. The best you’ll get now is 6/1 and wearing first time cheekpieces might see him improving. I can also report another mover here too….ANDALEEP…15/2 > 9/2. This horse got his head in front recently, only to lose the race in the Stewards room and it looks like they are after compo! I’ll dutch the two named, to make a profit.

If you listened to the Post Racing Podcast yesterday, you know the thoughts of Sean Trivass and myself on the Strensall Stakes but we do have one now being “nibbled” at….POGO….6/1 > 9/2. It’s obviously to late for me to change my mind on anything I said yesterday so I’ll have to bite the bullet if that one wins.

I’m not a fan of handicaps run over further than 12 furlongs and so whilst the good people on RacingTV and ITV will wax lyrical about both the Melrose and the Ebor, I’m afraid I will not be getting heavily involved, if at all.

In the Melrose I mentioned to Post Racing members this morning that FAVORITE MOON and BODYLINE were the ones for money here but both have eased a fraction, the money now coming for KIPPS….7/1 > 5/1

I’ll most likely have a small 20/80 FAVORITE MOON.

The City Of York Stakes was another discussed on the Post Racing Podcast yesterday and I’m mortified to see SAFE VOYAGE on the drift….4/1 > 11/2….I can only assume the ground is quickening up at York because that ground yesterday, would have suited him superbly.

We have a big mover here….SAN DONATO – 8/1 > 9/2 and back in a Group 2, having finished 6th of seven to MOHAATHER at Goodwood, I can understand that money.

Again though, I’ve made my bed and I’ll lay in it.

The Ebor next and it’s another Varian runner being smashed in now, FUJAIRA PRINCE. Now just 9/2 from an opening 8/1, he has been aimed at nothing but this race. Post Racing members were all on first time and I love the horse….ok, I’ll have a couple of quid straight win, for interest.

I suggested a dutch when we were recording the Podcast yesterday….LAUDED, POLITICS and ACKLAM EXPRESS, advising we ignore totally the then favourite, BEN MACDUI. That Ryan runner has drifted like a barge all morning, now 7/2 from the 9/4 he was yesterday.

In addition to the dutch I suggested that anyone looking for a 20/80 should very much consider LAUDED. If you want to know why, you will have to listen to the Post Racing Podcast.

I had no movers to mention in the 4-40pm but I do now!

DEREVO is being “mullahed” and having opened 8/1 now trades 4/1 favourite. He is clearly expected to reverse Goodwood placings with MAYDANNY and SKY DEFENDER.

I have introduced this horse into my own dutch.

I had a top rated horse pulled out of a race earlier this week and it runs in the 5-10pm race. I advised this morning that it had been backed from 6/1 > 9/2 but it has now eased out to its opening price again, as money comes for LIVE IN THE MOMENT.

I’ll dutch the two.
