Ripon and Sandown movers and shakers

I made a decision to cease working on racing whilst those rains were falling but if you listened to the Post Racing Podcast you had a wonderful weekend of punting. Every Group race winner advised in a dutch produced a profit and Sean Trivass found, us all a lovely winner at Newmarket.

In the opening race at Ripon my Post Racing subscribed members were advised last night that BUMBLE BEEE was being hammered in the market, 33/1 > 16/1 before 10-00pm, this morning into 11/1 and now trades just 7/1. It still represents an e.w. play but those on at the bigger double figure odds will be happy.

The favourite, INTELLO BOY, is strong at 12-45pm as he has shortened from 5/4 > 11/10 whilst everything else eases.

If the winner of the Ripon Rowels isn’t in my top four rated horses I’ll be as surprised as those backing both DANYAH and HORTZADAR. The second named is my top rated horse in that race, with the 3-y-o DANYAH sitting fourth best and he is definitely a “morning mover”….3/1 > 15/8. The rest of the field drifts and so I’m thinking a two horse dutch that pair, brings home the bacon.

The “mover” at 1-50pm is ALBADRI 10/1 > 6/1. This move has occurred since the markets woke up at 10-00am and it looks significant.

Nothing else is currently being backed and it’s a market I will keep an eye on before making a decision whether or not to get involved.

In the second of my Rated races at this meeting, the 2-20pm, nothing is particularly strong on the tissue and so it’ll be a case of playing my figures to Stake Management rules.

We have two divisions of a mucky Class 6 at 2-55pm and 3-30pm and the two “movers” I advised my subscribed members of this morning, ROYAL SHAHEEN 7/1 > 5/1 (now 13/2 and drifting), and REETH 40/1 > 14/1 (now 12/1), are both in the second leg. The stable of the current short priced favourite, LITTLE TED, that of Tim Easterby, is responsible for REETH, too….and you simply could not back that horse based on recent form. He has been contesting races of a higher grade though and with this being a field of Caribou, I guess anything is possible. One I’ll just watch though.

KALEIDOSCOPIC is the money horse in the 4-05pm, now 15/8 having opened at 11/4. I’d suggest a dutch with ABBOTSIDE will produce a profit here as whilst the money has come for the Channon runner, the favourite isn’t weakening.

MENIN GATE was the overnight mover 13/2 > 4/1 but that one is now fluctuating as money now comes for MANZIL….7/1 > 7/2.

What you have to remember about this race is, it’s an amateur riders event and half of those in the saddle will be in need of oxygen two furlongs from home. The favourite is MAC ALLEY and I guess dutching those three beginning with the letter M is going to return a profit?

At Sandown I’d suggest starting off with a ditch PROSPECT and COLOMBE will be profitable. The mover over night was COLOMBE 11/4 > 13/8 but we now see a slight drift back out to 2/1 as PROSPECT isn’t looking weak at the head of the tissue.

We have three non-runners at 3-35 and the market is all over the place….leave it be.

The punters only want one horse at 4-10….HUDDLESTON MAC 11/8 > 10/11 and the rest are friendless. Odds on maiden in a juvenile race? Not thanks.

Two more non-runners at 4-45pm and again all I’m seeing are adjustments. Not a race I’m interested in myself but BLUE HERO looks more like a “mover” than one simply adjusting….9/1 > 6/1….if you are playing the Placepot, I guess you might want to consider that one.

And another two non-runners at 5-15pm, the first of my rated races there. It’s another I’ll simply play using Post Racing Stake Management Rules.

RISK TAKER (5-50pm), a 3-y-o sitting 6th best on my Ratings, is being thumped in…..6/1 > 7/2f….another of my Rated races and, another I’ll play to just those same rules.

A small field race at 6-25pm, containing three x 3-y-o’s impossible to rate accurately. They are the front three on the tissue and the money is for MOOMBA, 9/4 > 7/4….sits fifth best on my figures. On my figures the best of that age group is WIN O’CLOCK….I will just have a 20/80 that one….no dutch, no faffing, just a small play the Charlton runner.

ZZORO is being punted like there is no tomorrow 14/1 > 15/2 in the 6-55pm and he’s in my top three rated horses here.

The overnight “mover” was my bottom rated horse….a 3-y-o….SWEET REWARD 5/2 > 15/8….and he’s retaining that position, not moving an inch, despite this new punt. I’m happy with my figures here and will look at the potential for a four horse dutch to produce me a profit.

We finish at 7-30pm with Division two of this Class 5 and with nothing at all attracting punters eyes, it’s my Ratings or nowt here. My top three look strong, all three year olds and if I don’t draw a profit here, I’ll just pour me a malt and crack on with tomorrow’s racing.

Have a great day!
