Crystal Palace v Everton

I can’t believe I’m putting a game up this early in the season but Ron was persistent and I have caved in.

Good luck to both Paul and Harp doing their football tipping on here while we wait for The Goal Posts to be finished.

The 2 teams that have started off well are Palace and Everton but I have been more impressed with Palace. Everton looked sluggish before West Brom had a player sent off and Pickford is definitely dodgy. I felt Palace looked better away at Utd than Everton did at home to West Brom and I’m trying to work out why Everton are favourites?

The stats might tell us.

Palace have not won in 11 against the Toffees and have also not scored a goal in 6 of those games. The last 3 games between them at this ground have all ended in a draw, 2 of those were 0-0.

Everton must always look forward to going to Selhurst Park though because they have won 5 and draw 5 and kept a clean sheet in 6 of the last 7.

Recent Palace form suggests they will win or lose this one as they have only drawn 1 of their last 17 league games.

I think Zaha has been promised a move because all he wants to do right now is score goals. He has scored 3 already this season and he only managed 4 all season last year. That attitude stinks to me but I think Roy Hodgson will take points and a good start from him then let him go, if a suitable offer comes in.

Both teams are going to break a run if either win tomorrow as Palace have not won the first 3 games of a season since 2006 and Everton haven’t done it since 1993!

As much as Everton like playing Palace, playing in London is unlucky for them. If they win tomorrow it will be only the 4th win in 28 games in London. Watching Everton at Spurs they were set up not to concede and I think that will be the plan tomorrow as well.

Palace are always sent out to keep it tight and I’ll be surprised if we see more than 2 goals

  • DRAW @ 3.45
  • 1-1 @ 7.2

Good luck
