Nottingham and another “steamer” giving off flames!

0

The market most definitely got that Class 6 spot on yesterday as the “steamer” won easily 5/1 > 7/4. We have another very well punted animal this afternoon, that was advised to Post Racing subscribed members earlier. If you would like to join them please visit the Post Racing website, take a look at the packages available to you and subscribe. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with me.

Tomorrow I’ll be working primarily with the jumpers until the end of March but while they still race on the flat, I’ll look for those horses you need to be made aware of.

NOTTINGHAM

1-15 – The front three in the market are very weak, WILLABELL 6/4 > 2/1, JACATTACK 11/4 > 10/3 and PROSPECT 10/3 > 11/2 with the only runner attracting a penny being HIGH SECURITY 12/1 > 9/1.

It’s a race I’ll simply watch, with a view to my list of tracker horses in mind.

1-45 – Plenty of support for SANKALPA 7/2 > 2/1 with only SAYYIDA being nibbled at by e.w. players 12/1 > 9/1.

This looks a proper gamble taking place as all those directly behind SANDALPA are drifting like a flotilla of Kon Tiki’s.

2-20 – The third favourite this morning, MASHMOON, has been taken out and this has led to market fluctuations. However, I had advised Post Racing subscribed members that MISHAL STAR had been very well supported overnight, 4/1 > 15/8….now 7/4 and strong.

All indications are one of:

  • MISHAL STAR
  • MUAY THAI
  • BHUBEZI

….wins this and they are priced to dutch.

2-55 – Today’s “steamer” is the Henry Candy trained 3-y-o BIMBLE. Opened the 7/2 favourite last night and they have steamed in. I advised it had shortened to 15/8….now 7/4.

Only one other horse is being supported, PUNCHBOWL FLYER 14/1 > 8/1 but I’m very much seeing another UGO GREGORY here, even if he does have 16 others to beat.

If I could point to one being nibbled at e.w. it would be ROCK ON BAILEYS. He opened 16/1, drifted to 20/1 and that was when they went in….now 14/2.

It does look like BIMBLE is “expected” though.

3-30 – We had a brace of OMM’s in this one and the market is now telling me that ALFRED BOUCHER is the stronger of that pair.

MAKE IT RAIN was 11/4 > 7/4 but has now drifted to 5/2, whilst the Candy horse opened 8/1, went 6/1….now 5/1….and they are still looking for it.

Candy is also trainer of BIMBLE and it looks like a potential double has been “set up”.

4-05 – SHOOT TO KILL was the OMM, 11/2 > 4/1 and whilst they are still nibbling away at that (now 7/2), I’m seeing a punt taking place, THRILLA IN MANILLA 16/1 > 8/1….and two others they are sniffing around, too, HELVETIAN 14/1 > 9/1 and COMMANDER HAN 10/1 > 8/1.

I still “believe” in the OMM….that looks a proper play….and the move for the Hollie Doyle ridden THRILLA IN MANILLA loos a serious punt too.

A typical end of season Class 5 that was already a conundrum long before they started getting at it.

If I were punting it’d be a dutch SHOOT TO KILL, THRILLA IN MANILLA, HELVETIAN, who wears cheekpieces for the first time and is ridden by the rising start that is Ray Dawson.

4-40 – They finish with a two mile Class 4 Handicap and one of ARABIAN WARRIOR or MR CHUA wins it, if the market is pointing us down the right path.

The first named is 9/4 > 6/4, MR CHUA 11/4 > 9/4 > 5/2….7/1 bar that pair.

Never a race I’d play under normal circumstances but end of season….no thank you very much.

HUNTINGDON

In the 1-00pm CALIDUS MIRABILIS is 5/2 > 6/4 and very strong, and SONGO is 15/2 > 5/1 to beat the front two on the tissue at 2-00pm…they are weak.

SILENT ENCORE looks “expected” at 2-35pm, and two against the field based on market strength at 3-10pm would be EYEOFTHESCORPION / DOLLNAMIX….4/1 > 9/4 and 5/1 > 7/2 RESPECTIVELY. The rst are weak.

3-45pm looks to be all about CRYSTAL LAD 13/2 > 4/1, the morning favourite THE DISTANT LADY is weak, 6/4 > 9/4

4-20pm – the David Simcock trained GREEN PLANET is 7/2 > 7/4. I’m not sure how many Bumper horses Simcock has sent out previously from his flat racing team and this one is a half brother to four winners, all mainly sprinters?

They seem to think this is home and hosed.

BANGOR-ON-DEE

The McCain team is the one to follow here….it’s his “muck track”, as he calls it, and he preps horses to win here.

His COURT JURADO is the one for money at 2-10pm – 4/1 > 5/2 but at 2-45pm it’s the Greatrex runner EARL OF HARROW 10/3 > 2/1

McCain has the well backed favourite running for him at 3-20pm – 5/2 > 13/8 but I’m also seeing support for the Fergal O’Brien trained MINELLA TARA 13/2 > 4/1.

Very competitive race at 3-55pm….THOMAS SHELBY 11/2 > 9/2, MARBLE MOON 16/1 > 11/2 and TOO WISE MAN 16/1 > 15/2….they are the ones for money. Mid-November I’d be advising something but it’s just a watching brief here.

4-30pm is not strong from a market perspective but in the 5-00pm it’s two being well backed against a very weak odds on favourite, VOCALISER 4/6 > 6/5, with GRAND COUREUR 11/2 > 7/2 and CHATELIER 9/1 > 6/1 both looking fancied to over turn it.

Best of luck!
