Taunton and Fakenham morning movers

The ground went proper mucky yesterday and you would have to question the CoC at Bangor’s decision to wait as long as they did, before changing the official going description to heavy. They did so after after race 5 but I knew it would be heavy there before the first race. When you see so many horses pulling up and those finishing spread out across the county, you know it’s not merely soft ground they race on.

We know the script and we’ll just get on with it.

It is officially good to firm here today and they kick off with a right Mickey Mouse event, a Conditional and Amateur Riders Hand and Heels event.

1-40 – None of those at the head of the market are weak as such, nor are they being supported. It’s simply one of those races that, if we could attend Taunton today, we would be arriving as this was being run.

Two big priced runners are being punted by e.w. players, KUIPER BELT 25/1 > 11/1 and FANCY A DANCE, (first run following wind surgery), 25/1 > 16/1.

You obviously expect me to be saying you only need bet here if you are gagging for a punt….so, I’ve said it.

2-10 – The OMM advised to Post Racing Subscribed members in this race, is still being supported. If you would like to receive details of these horse, delivered to your inbox by 7-00am each morning, please visit the Post Racing Subscription page and select the option that suits your best.

2-40 – No fewer than five non-runners in this race and so all I see now are market adjustments. The horse advised as the OMM is still strong.

3-10 – My top rated horse in this is attracting serious support now, 25/1 > 12/1, and I have to say, playing those Ratings appears the best way to go….top three dutch.

3-40 – Down to six now, the horse trading third favourite on the morning tissue has been pulled out. Market adjustments for sure but I’m also seeing money for COURT ROYALE 11/2 > 4/1….more than just an adjustment, for sure.

4-10 – My top rated horse here was also an OMM and, not a sausage for anything else in the race. My third best, FROM THE HEART, is doing a Kon Tiki right now and the only play I consider would be a 20/80 – straight win punt my top Rated.

4-40 – A Bumper….never know when to trust these!

One horse is currently seeing money thrown at it, PHIL HEALY – 9/1 > 9/2. The trainers horses are going well and I suppose a small 20/80 wouldn’t hurt but as with these races, you monitor the market right up until the off!

The ground here is on the easy side of good and they have a seven race card, starting at 1-02pm.

1-02 – I advised my Post Racing subscribed membership of an OMM here and it is still courting support as I type. Still priced to 20/80 and with the second favourite as weak as a kitten on the tissue right now, that 20/80 looks likely to yield you a profit.

1-32 – A selling handicap. Five going to post including a 15 year old trading 66/1. So, one of four wins it then. The 12 year old DREAM BOLT is 5/1 > 3/1 and the current 6/4 favourite last won over fences three years ago. I cannot believe I typed this many words about this race.

2-02 – Better….Class 4 and I’m seeing support for two:

  • TREATY OF DINGLE – 15/2 > 4/1
  • GLASS OF BUBBLES – 8/1 > 6/1

A small dutch might be sensible as they cannot give front two on the tissue away with a puppy thrown in.

2-32 – Nothing is strong on the tissue but my figures marry up quite well with how the market is shaped right now and I’d be happy working this race to the Post Racing Stake Management rules.

3-02 – Just four going to post for this Novices’ Chase and the odds on favourite is weak 8/15 > 8/13….the money, such as it is, is for the two outsiders, TIMETOCHILL 11/2 > 9/2 and IMPERIL 14/1 > 8/1.

I keep saying it but playing odds on shots in such races will have you, bowl in hands, arms outstretched, asking for more.

A no bet race.

3-32 – Probably the best of my four rated races today and again, my top rated horse is the one for money. However, I’m also seeing CRISTAL SPIRIT – 33/1 > 14/1, GLORIOUS DANE – 14/1 > 7/1 and JACKSON HILL, my bottom rated horse, 7/2 > 11/4

Personally….and applying the rules, you go top three + JACKSON HILL, who is now not only a market mover but, a bottom rated favourite.

4-02 – The Bumper. The paper favourite, SUN RISING HILL, is 11/8 > 15/8 and weak, support right now for:

  • MARTELLO SKY 3/1 > 5/2
  • HARROWBY – 13/2 > 9/2
  • DUNEFINCH – 16/1 > 10/1

They are also sniffing around HI HO SILVA LINING 25/1 > 18/1.

I’d just let this go….I need to betting a race like this, like a need a hole in the head!

Best of luck!
