- MIDDLESBOROUGH V NOTTINGHAM FOREST
It looks like we have an easy one to start as it looks a home banker if it plays out as it should.
Middlesborough sit 8th in the league with Forest sitting 21st and just a point off the bottom three. The away team has only scored five goals this season, shipping 10 and average 1.88 goals per game, with Boro averaging a goal a game and letting in just five to date.
The home team are unbeaten at home in their last four home games including a 0-0 draw to league leaders Reading and unbeaten in their last seven, winning three of them.
Head to heads give Forest the advantage. They have met 21 times previously Boro winning five, Forest nine, with seven drawn. Forest have improved of late but with Boro averaging two points per home game and Forest just one when on the road, I’ll say home win.
- QUEENS PARK RANGERS V CARDIFF CITY
Rangers are just a point above Forest and just three points below Cardiff, who are 14th in the league. I think an away win here.
The home team just cannot score goals and have failed to score in five of their eight league games this season. They have only scored once in their last five games and in that time average 0.6 points per game.
Cardiff have bagged seven points from their last five games which is an average of 1.4 per game and they enjoy being on the road, too, currently unbeaten in their last four away games. They have only won one of those games though.
Cardiff have scored a goal in their last four and the fact they do find the net sways me in their favour here.
- ACCRINGTON STANLEY V PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
- ROCHDALE V BRISTOL ROVERS
They sit 14th and 13th in the league so a very tight one to call. The home side have gone three without defeat and the head to heads suggest a draw as they have met nine times, won three each and drawn three.
Rochdale have picked up seven points from their last five games, Bristol Rover has bagged 10. Playing away suits Bristol and they have not been beaten on the road in their last two.
They have also won three and drawn one of the last five head to head meetings. The last game between them ended 0-0 and I can see that being repeated.
- CRAWLEY TOWN V CAMBRIDGE UNITED
I can see some goals being scored in this one. Crawley have scored in each of their last four and netted 10 times in their last five games. Cambridge have scored in their last five games and scored 13 in their last five games. I would definitely have a bet +2.5 goals here.
Crawley averages 2.5 goals per game at home, Cambridge three away from home and the home team secures an average 2.5 points per home game, Cambridge 2.25 away.
The higher defence here is that of the away team and they have only conceded five goals in their nine league games this season, scoring 21 while Crawley have scored 15 and let 10 in.
The league table shows the away team second in the league with Crawley in ninth and I see the away team edging it.
- NEWPORT COUNTY V HARROGATE TOWN
The home team are top of the league, Harrogate in eighth.
Newport have picked up 12 points from their last five games, Harrogate 10 points from their last five. Home form suggests a home win as Newport have won their last four on their own turf but harrogate have kept a clean sheet in their last three games and only conceded three goals in that time.
Newport have scored a goal in each of their last nine games and average 1.75 goals per game at home, Harrogate average 1.6 goals a game away from home.
They have never met domestically before so I have no head to head form to look at.
Tough game to call this but I’ll call a home win and Newport are simply excellent on their home turf and can make it five wins from their last five home games.
