Haldon Gold Cup day at Exeter

More fantastic results produced from the Ratings, the OMM’s and the racing section of The World Of Sport yesterday. As we approach the core season (starts this Saturday with Badger Day!), everything is coming together superbly well and I’m feeling a positive vibe about this NH season.

12-55 – We have an OMM in here that is exceptionally strong and for sure, I’d run with that one! If you do not yet subscribe to Post Racing and therefore fail to have these in your inbox first thing in the morning, please click here to pick a package.

1-25 – They have come for INCA ROSE in a big way since I started monitoring these markets this morning, 7/1 > 7/2, all three that were at the head of market early have now drifted and this Kim Bailey trained one is now favourite.

SANTON is also attracting support at a big price, 22/1 > 10/1….e.w. jobby by the looks of things.

INCA ROSE 20/80 looks the play for profit.

1-55 – The horse advised an OMM this morning is still strong but I’m now seeing money for DAL HORRISGLE, 9/2 > 3/1. This horse has moved from William Haggas to Alan King (I’d love to know how much!), and he was rated 94 on the flat, ran in Group races in 2019 and won three of his nine flat races.

He had wind surgery before the move and on debut ran a decent enough third to ROCHESTER HOUSE, beaten just over two lengths on debut for the yard, in a Class 3 handicap at Ascot. He makes hurdling debut today and I have always been of a mind a good flat horse will always beat a good NH bred horse….if he can jump.

We shall see.

2-25 – We have another OMM in here and it’s strong. As this is a Rated race and the OMM sits outside my top three, I’d be looking to dutch four.

2-55 – I do not see ENRILO (4/6 > 4/9), being beaten here but you know my thoughts on betting odds on in Novice events. Will RED RIVER improve second run off a wind-op? The market is suggesting probably, 6/1 > 4/1….the rest on the drift and this looks the CSF play.

3-25 – My favourite race of the day and an OMM to add to my top three for another four horse dutch. A seriously competitive race with 18 runners hurtling around Exeter and I genuinely of a mind my Ratings/OMM have it boxed off.

The market here really is bouncing now though with money for EVERLANES 11/1 > 7/1, TRUCKIN AWAY 12/1 > 9/1, LARKBARROW LAD 8/1 > 13/2 having fluctuated since the clock struck 9-00am.

3-55 – My final Rated race of the day and since my morning Newsletter went out the market has woken…this is probably the liveliest of the meeting.

My top rated horse is very weak and that would be enough for me to drop it from my own play. My third highest rated horse is also doing a Kon Tiki so my work here would revolve around:

  • MEEP MEEP – 8/1 > 7/2
  • WILDE SPIRIT 5/1 > 10/3

TRONADA is a strong favourite but impossible to rate accurately, having had just three runs over hurdles and finishing fourth in all three.

MEEP MEEP is the serious mover now though and it looks like they expect to recoup the money lost last time out.

4-25 – A major punt is going on here, JOBESGREEN LAD, running first time following a wind-op and making Handicap debut, 15/2 > 11/4

It’s a Class 5 but this one is clearly expected.

Best of luck!
