I really do love working with racing up at Musselburgh. Plenty of profit snaffled from that track yesterday and whilst it’s much quieter and of a lower grade today, winners are winners, are winners, wherever they can be found. The last race at Southwell is interesting for the reason given in the text applied to that race.
12-15 – Eight going to post but only two fancied and it’s close to evens the pair, neither more favoured than the other and it’s a Maiden Hurdle to simply watch as you enjoy your lunch.
12-46 – Class 5 Handicap Chase and it’s all about CYBALCO on the tissue right now 3/1 > 2/1, whilst the early favourite, GOLD FIELDS, takes a hike 15/8 > 5/2
The market implies the Sam England trained runner lands this.
1-16 – My Ratings look rock solid here and since my morning Newsletter went out I have seen a big move for my third highest rated so all good on the Ratings front….it looks set to produce a profit, does this one!
1-46 – MINELLA DRAMA is a very firm favourite here 2/5, not budging and they are letting the second favourite go – 11/4 > 7/2 – 12/1 bar the pair and it looks an opportunity to buy some money if punting odds on in Novice events is your thing.
2-16 – Only six going to post for this Novices’ Handicap Chase but the market has been lively this morning:
- EQUUS DANCER – 11/8 > 5/4
- SLANELOUGH 2/1 > 7/2
- ONTHEFRONTFOOT – 9/2 > 3/1 > 4/1
- JUST CALL ME AL – 11/2 > 9/1 > 15/2 > 13/2
- LADRONNE – 16/1 > 9/1
- IWASTHEFUTUREONCE – 16/1 > 40/1
If I were forced to play here it would be a straight win EQUUS DANCER. The trainers only runner here today, he has a near 50% strike rate with handicap chasers and Sean Bowen has a 33% strike rate when riding for his old man here.
2-46 – Two OMM’s were advised to my Post Racing subscribed members this morning and even though this is a Conditional Jockeys’ Hand and Heels event, they are still on top of them….although I should point out that the second maned in the OMM’s section of the Newsletter is significantly stronger now and is half the price he opened at last night.
3-16 – Post Racing subscribed members were told of a right steamer here this morning and still the money is being piled on. The trainer landed a right touch last week, too.
12-37 – My top rated is being well supported, which is nice but, for sure, we now need to consider a four horse dutch as EAU TOP is 5/1 > 3/1.
1-07 – ECOSSAIS is the runner for money this morning, 10/1 > 6/1 but I’m considering just working a 20/80 my top rated here. I’m not sure my figures are worth a carrot to be honest….might be right, might be wrong….but them’s my thoughts.
1-37 – A Bumper mid meeting….not my cup of tea but some seem to believe Henderson’s FIRESTEP is a banker 11/8 > 5/6. I don’t like Bumpers at the best of times but fair to say that this trainer has stepped things up in the kind of race this season. He usually runs at around a 25% strike rate but it’s 38% this term.
2-07 – One horse for money here, TREMWEDGE 5/2 > 7/4 and the rest are taking a walk in the market even as I type. It’s a Maiden, go easy if you opt to follow that one in.
2-37 – My final Rated race here and fair to say we simply follow the figures because the market is absolutely saying nowt….and just as I type that, my third highest rated horse goes 14/1 > 12/1 > 10/1….just run with those top three again.
3-07 – I advised an OMM here this morning but now see a very slight drift. Others being supported now are:
- CYRUS KEEP – 6/1 > 4/1
- JACK THUNDER – 8/1 > 6/1
- MASTER NEWTON – 14/1 > 8/1
- SAY THE WORD – 16/1 > 11/1
This has become a “no bet” race for me personally.
3-37 – I read last night that Ashley Barnes, the Burnley striker, has purchased MANOR PARK and he and his mates must be looking to recoup the shekels right away….5/4 > 10/11 and it’s 11/2 bar. Nothing else at all is being supported.
This one landed a punt at Market Rasen last week 25/1 > 10/1 > won 12/1….we were on….when it beat SHANROE TIC TEC in a lady riders race for pro’s and amateurs….easily.
Looks set to score then, eh!
Best of luck!
