Poor racing again but we’ve sorted out all 14 races being run at Taunton and Lingfield

The racing this weekend is awesome but we have a price to pay for it, in the shape of poor racing leading up to it. Both meetings yesterday were ordinary, today is woeful really but here goes nothing!

12-33 – Heavy ground, Class 5 races in abundance, and we start with one of those that is also a Conditional Jockeys’ event. Overnight the market at this meeting had not been touched but several are now being punted, most likely to not a lot of money.

Here we have two MILANSTORM 11/7 > 7/2 and PAT KELLY 16/1 > 8/1

1-03 – The morning tissue favourite, TRIBESMANS GLORY, is weak 13/8 > 5/2, as support has arrived for ALRIGHTJACK 6/1 > 9/2 and SNUFF BOX 8/1 > 5/1….DANCING IN THE SKY has been fluctuating between 5/1 and 11/2 having touched 4/1 and to be quite honest, this is not a race giving off a “punt me” vibe.

I’ll just watch.

1-33 – We have an odds on favourite in a Claiming race, that has not raced for 257 days. Fair to say, I think, they are not racing at this level because they are robust and produce their best for each time they go racing.

It is 4/1 bar DEEBAJ, who has been fluctuating all morning 5/6 > 4/6 > 5/6 > 10/11 > 4/5….but he is the only runner with course winning form and, most importantly, with a win on heavy ground.

You still wont see me queueing up to place a bet though.

2-03 – The favourite, AVOIR DE SOINS is strong but the money horse is CLONDAW STORM 9/2 > 5/2. I simply cannot bring myself to play these races. It’s a bit like waiting your turn to be served at Costa Coffee, looking forward to a cappuccino with an extra shot, only to be told by the Barista once you arrive at the counter, they are only serving Latte. You know you’ll only get a cup of hot milk with a waft of coffee and that with every sip you’ll grimace.

That’s not coffee as I like it, and these are not racehorses as I like them, either.

I’d refuse the Latte.

2-33 – Two horses trade 11/8 & 6/4, both weak and it’s 10/1 bar. Nothing at all is being supported and I’m seeing no bet here, either.

3-03 – I guess, by now, you know my feelings about the racing here today and punters all over the world are seemingly giving it a very wide birth. This is a Maiden Hurdle for Mares….and all the money is for FARNE 6/1 > 3/1. This one must have big feet because by the time they reach off time here this ground will be mush and snow shoes required, just to get home.

3-33 – A Class 5 Handicap Chase to close….it cannot come soon enough! BIG MEADOW is seemingly set to run well….13/2 > 9/2 but if you fancy punting a horse 1-11 on heavy, 2-20 at the trip and 0-1 track, be my guest.

I will not even watch the racing from that track today.

12-41 – RUNSWICK BOY is a strong favourite 9/4 > 7/4 with DORKING LAD fluctuating between 7/2 > 3/1, but steady. One for money is GRISBI DE BERCE 14/1 > 13/2 and the money suggests the winner is in that trio….dutch.

1-11 – There have been a few having their odds yo-yo-ing but the most consistent mover is ASK HENRY 9/1 > 6/1. If I do opt to play here it will be a 20/80 that one….to pennies though.

1-41 – First of my two rated races here today and the morning OMM is still rock steady. I’m very happy to work as advised in the morning Newsletter as the morning favourite PECKINPAH, fourth best on my figures, is drifting 2/1 > 7/2….two of my top three also now attracting money.

2-11 – The tissue favourite, KAUTO THE KING, is the only runner being supported, 5/2 > 2/1, with everything else on the drift. I’ll consider a straight win punt that one but am very much interested in the stable of Chris Honour, who landed a right touch last week with a Bumper winner and has TROED Y MELIN running here at a big price….I’ll monitor the market.

2-41 – My second rated race and I’m seeing a ton of money for my top rated horse. The advice added this morning to that race still very much stands but I’m feeling surprisingly optimistic!

3-11 – The morning OMM advised to Post Racing subscribed members is still strong and the only other runner being sniffed at is WRITE IT DOWN 3/1 > 5/2 and a dutch returns a decent enough profit…providing one of them wins, of course!

3-41 – We end here with a Class 5 and the market is telling us one of three wins it:

It is 12/1 bar that trio but I’d definitely not rule out a big run from POTTERS VISION, who makes Handicap debut here.

I’ll have closed the betting bank by the times this goes off but, it’s an interesting finale.

Best of luck!
