Chepstow sunk, Wetherby sinking and Kempton soggy!

It’s not really a day for betting, following the misery caused by Storm Bella overnight, with Chepstow copping for another 27mm and making it impossible to race, Wetherby getting 20mm and the ground turning heavy and Kempton not escaping either and so, we have very limited news.

11-55 – It would appear to be the case that ESPOIRE MORIVIERE will be looking forward to sloshing through the mud as this one is 5/1 > 3/1. The early favourite ROLLERCOASTER is 5/2 > 7/2….the ups and downs eh.

12-25 – Three non-runners and plenty of market adjustments so we’ll move swiftly on.

1-00 – Down to two runners….let’s keep going.

1-35 – KINGS CREEK looks strongest here…..4/1 > 3/1 and backed at all rates between those two prices.

2-45 – Four runners and it’s the outsider being supported, LEVEROCK LASS 11/2 > 7/2 but this wasn’t a race I’d have played before the rains came and it’s even less of one now that they have.

3-20 – Three out here but I’ve seen a flood (see what I did there), of money for ELEVEN SEVEN TEN 33/1 > 9/1, who makes racecourse debut following a wind-op. PARRAMOUNT is a strong favourite 11/4 > 13/8 but I’m not touching the racing here today with a 20ft barge pole.

12-45 – The OMM is now weak as a result of a going change. They have not escaped the rain and it is now officially soft all over. Nothing at all is being backed here and so I’ll just watch.

1-20 – SHISHKIN should enhance his Arkle claims but then, EPATANTE should have cruised home yesterday….again, I’ll just be watching.

1-55 – My fourth and ninth highest rated horses have been pulled out. I’m still happy enough with my top three and will simply dutch them.

2-30 – ALTIOR is very weak 8/13 > 5/6 but nothing is being punted to beat him. Just watch.

3-05 – Just one pulled so far but the change of going has inspired a punt on the Venetia Williams trained ROYALE PIGALLE 7/1 > 5/1 and ERICK LE ROUGE 16/1 > 9/1 but, they are still interested in the OMM. My own play here now will be rated horses 4, 9 & 12 dutched.

3-40 – Two out here, including my second highest rated horse. The OMM is still fine to work with but from a Ratings point of view my own play here will now be a dutch rated horses 1, 7, 12….the last of those attracting sustained support 15/2 > 11/2 but fair to say that the ground will be a major factor come off time with more showers forecast and this being the last race on the card.

Best of luck!
