Catterick gone and it will not be pretty at Bangor or Fontwell!

In my part of the world the weather in the last 36 hours has been attrocious….and it still is. It has not stopped raining, everywhere is flooded, and both tracks that have decided they will still go ahead, will be bogs.

This is not going to make for pretty watching and if the first few races indicate it’s not really ground we want to be working with, I’ll simply up stumps and wait for another day.

12-50 – This is the track Donald McCain regards as his “muck track”….he expects to saddle winners here and it’s his SNOUGAR 8/1 > 6/1 that has been attracting support. None of the front three on the tissue is weak as such, BEN BRODY probably least fancied of those. I’d dutch MISS AMELIA, GO AS YOU PLEASE, SNOUGAR….Class 5 so staking mirrors how poor these horses are.

1-50 – FISHKOV is 8/11 > 5/6 whilst PENNYFORAPOUND is 11/2 > 4/1… 20/80 the Rebecca Curtis trained runner if I bet here at all.

2-20 – Three have been pulled and whilst I’m still sweet on the OMM advised in my morning Newsletter, I’m now seeing support for the two beaten favourites last time out, OUT THE GLEN 7/1 > 7/2 and ROYAL CLARET 7/1 > 9/2.

I’ll dutch three to make my profit (hopefully!).

2-50 – Down to nine runners now. Since my morning Newsletter went out I’ve seen a flood (pun intended), of money for the Venetia Williams trained CRYPTO 11/2 > 5/2 and my own play here now will be a dutch rated horses 1, 7, 8. I got my decision making spot on yesterday (it happens!), and here I’m seeing this three as the most likely way to work.

3-20 – Farce. They may have eight going to post but it’s 1/5 THE GLANCING QUEEN, 5/1 STRIKE HOLLOW…..14/1 bar that pair. The favourite most likely wins it for Alan King but those playing those odds in novice events know my feelings. Kim Bailey has done the best thing and left his at home.

3-50 – Irony. The news yesterday saw an announcement made regarding the lessening of the opportunity to Click and Collect, in an attempt to control the virus. Here CLICK AND COLLECT is 8/1 > 9/2 so, someone clearly expects to be queuing up at the pay window. However, PANATOS is another being very well supported, 18/1 > 8/1 and with the morning OMM another non-runner at this meeting today (there will be more), I’d be thinking it’s a race to swerve….I’m certainly not getting sucked in to coincidence bets or looking to play a horse that is 1-34, that win coming on good ground in May 2019.

1-00 – They are getting stuck in to CONKWELL LEGEND here 2/1 > 6/4, and backed at all rates. The pair sitting second and third favourite are steady….fluctuating but neither bigger than their opening shows from last night.

I’d think a dutch CONKWELL LEGEND, BEAUPORT, DELGANY MONARCH produces a profit but one you need to watch for a market move between now and off time is BEAUVALLON BAY who runs in first time cheekpieces, for a trainer currently running at a staggering 82% RTF….until I’m within minutes of the off, my funds stay in the betting bank.

2-00 – Only four going to post here but for sure, they do not like the odds o UMBRIGADO….4/9 > 8/13….up the straight 6/4 > 5/4….not the kind of race that gets me all goosebumps and betting though….I’ll just watch it.

3-30 – The short priced morning favourite has been pulled out of this Class 5 Chase and so all I’m seeing now is a heavy market adjustment. I’m drawn towards a 20/80 FIZZLESTIX, who is 2-5 ground, 2-7 trip and 1-1 track. Currently around 8/1 this one ran third to BENEVELONTDICTATOR on seasonal debut and that plodder ran well enough when third in the Sussex National recently. Tiny stakes, mind.

Best of luck!
