Couple of runners up in that play yesterday, but no cigars for any straight win players.
I thought we’d go Placepot again this afternoon and felt Hamilton offered up the best chance of success, despite it starting with a 14 runner Amateur riders Class 6 Handicap….what other choice do I have! All the meetings taking place today are either low grade racing or, as is the case at Haydock, ultra small fields that requires us to find winners, as opposed to placed horses.
5-45 – They were interested in EPEIUS overnight but since the first of my members only Newsletters went out, they have got right stuck into KILCONQUHAR but my problem with this horse is the nine stall it races from. That’s right on the cusp for me….I’d definitely baulk at a double figure draw. We need two, minimum, in our Place pot perm here and I’m thinking WAR OF CLANS. In 2018 Karen Tutty saddled the winner of this and booked Amy Collier to ride it. They team up again here with this one and they’ve been nibbling away at it 7/1 > 11/2.
NIAGARA has also halved in price since this morning but drawn 10, has a bit of work to do. Lightly raced though and open to improvement.
6-15 – PERFECT POWER looks a banker here. The first show of 4/5 was pinched and best you’ll get is 4/9
6-45 – Another tricky Class 6 to work with but they do seem to like David O’Meara’s VALLEY OF FLOWERS. I’d include that one but I’ll also suggest you introduce TWIN APPEAL (or the unnamed favourite), because in the last 10 running’s of this the favourite has finished 1, 1, 2, 4, 1, 1, 1, 2, 6, 3….a virtual banker to hit the frame.
7-15 – A lot of morning interest in JUPITER ROAD, who looks sure to enjoy this step up in trip and the booking of Rowan Scott, top jockey at Hamilton, is a bonus, as was explained to my subscribed members this morning. Again though, if you wanted to simply add the “unnamed favourite” the trends suggest you’ll get it in the frame as the last 10 favourites have finished 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 2, 1, 1
7-45 – We need to get one in the first two here so, no slip ups! Only three previous running’s of this race and the favourite has won all three to date so THE GLOAMING currently holds that spot and with rain forecast I’m thinking I’d simply input “FAV”. I’m sure the market will be informative here!
8-15 – Down to five runners and with only two previous running’s of this event, I’m going to rely on my Ratings….even if I’ll not bet in my usual fashion using them. Both winners to date have carried more than 9st, and the favourite won it last year, finished third the year before. I’m going to rely on GEORGE BOWEN to hit the frame as he’s the only horse in here with three ticks….going, track, trip….fingers crossed!
