For The Fun Punters! 10/06/21

Hamilton was tough yesterday and having that amateur riders race at the start meant we were at the mercy of jockeys who rarely race ride and most of whom, cannot do so….so today I’m going to prpduce a Placepot for you at Haydock

6-00 – Only five going to post for this juvenile event and the market is telling me one of TARDIS or SOPHIE’S STAR wins it and I’d suggest we are guaranteed at least one line coming out alive by playing that pair in our perm. I have no previous running’s of this race to go trend spotting and so it has to me the market guiding us.

6-30 – At Pontefract a few days ago, we had VENTURA EXPRESS in our Placepot as a banker selection, because the market was not hiding it. They are again punting it and I’m not surprised as he’s sent out quickly, carries a 5lb penalty (he’d have won with a stone more last time up), and is clearly “expected” again.

With just seven runners in and with that favourite running again so quickly (who knows how he’s come out of that race?), I again want two and will have my top rated horse FOX HILL in the perm.I would expect one…or both….to keep us going.

7-00 – Another small field, this time seven juveniles go six furlongs here and whilst I’m interested in NUANCE on debut, I’m thinking safety first here and we’ll simply introduce the experienced KING OF GOLD, as a solo selection for our perm. Such races make it hard to be confident because who knows how good, or otherwise, the newcomers are?

7-30 – Only six going to post here and if we nail this Placepot, it’s going to pay ok. We have four runners within two points of each other right now and I’m looking at my Ratings which tell me this is a weak race. All morning the market has done nothing but fluctuate….nobody out there has a clue as to what to expect and so, with my figures performing well right now, I’ll select my top two, CARADOC and THIBAAN to carry the torch for us.

8-00 – I advised my subscribed members this morning, that this is a Class 6 in Class 5 clothing. It is a horrible race and as we have no previous running’s of this race, all I can do is again look to the market for help because I’m quite sure my figures will be pretty much useless. A punt is occurring and MAJALAAT is 7/1 > 4/1 to win on stable debut for Rebecca Menzies. With absolutely no confidence at all I’ll pop that one in. You could put five of these in and still fail to place so I’ll just have the one.

8-30 – If we are still in the mix at this point, we’ll again be relying on one to finish in the front three and it it fails, then it was simply not meant to be!

WINK OF AN EYE is now odds on and the rest are on the drift. I imagine this will be a Placepot banker for most players….and it will be for us, too.

  • LEG 1 – 4, 5
  • LEG 2 – 2, 4
  • LEG 3 – 3
  • LEG 4 – 2, 4
  • LEG 5 – 2
  • LEG 6 – 3

Best of luck!
