The Saturday EFL Acca!

0

Very early doors to be betting on football but as we want The World Of Sport to be about having a bet for the fun of betting, I said why not, when asked to start putting a football acca together, for the weekend.

Watching the EFL leagues settle down is very interesting. We saw Hull smash it out of the park on the first weekend but they have now lost two games on the trot, both on their own ground.

COVENTRY V READING

History tells us that Reading are winning 5-1 on head to head results, four others ending in draws but Coventry have started the season well and average 1.8 points per game at home, with Reading grabbing .25 points away from home. You will see more significance in these stats as the season progresses.

Reading definitely have defensive issues as they have conceded six goals in the first three games of the new season. In all three games they have scored.

Coventry are tighter at the back have scored three in their first three games and conceded two and sit eighth in the league table.

I’m thinking both teams will score this afternoon but that it wont be a high scoring game. Perhaps a 1-1 draw looks most likely.

BET BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 9/10

BLACKBURN V WBA

Both sides sit top six in the Championship with yo-yo side WBA averaging three goals per game already. Blackburn are a little more conservative in front of goal, just under two per game.

The bookmakers have the away side very slight favourites but it’s another game I see both side scoring. WBA will be strong at home this season and tough to beat on the road but Blackburn will be a tough proposition on their own turf and it’s a game I see ending a score draw.

BET BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 3/4

DONCASTER V PORTSMOUTH

Portsmouth have started the season like a house on fire winning all three games to nil and top the table.

Doncaster, by contrast, have lost all three opening games and sit bottom of the league.

Form so far this season is scant but the three games suggest Portsmouth are 86% more likely to score most goals.

The bookmakers are pricing this up as being tighter than the table suggests 23/10 Doncaster 13/10 Portsmough and I agree with them. Doncaster have lost to nil in their two games on the road this season but did hit the back of the net in their first home game of the season.

BET BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 4/5

BOLTON WANDERERS V OXFORD UTD

Both sides are currently unbeaten this season and they’ve only met three times to date, one win each, one draw. The wins both came away from their own grounds.

Oxford has won both games at home this season, drawing their opening game of the season at Cambridge. They have conceded one goal in two of those games.

Bolton has drawn two of their home games 3-3, winning their last game 1-0 at Lincoln.

It would seem that at home Bolton look to entertain, which leads to them being picked off at the back and it’s another game I’ll suggest both side score, with the game ending up a draw.

BET BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 6/10
