Today we have three meetings to work with, Haydock, Pontefract and Ascot. I’m not going near Haydock for a Placepot perm as they open with a four runner Handicap, that sees three currently trading 9/4 co-favourite but for sure, Ascot and Pontefract do offer up a bit of fun with those bets and I’ve come up with….
- LEG 1 – 2
- LEG 2 – 5
- LEG 3 – 1, 4
- LEG 4 – 1, 5
- LEG 5 – 1, 2
- LEG 6 – 3
- LEG 1 – 1
- LEG 2 – 2, 3
- LEG 3 – 2, 5, 6
- LEG 4 – 1
- LEG 5 – 3
- LEG 6 – 2
FIVE FOR FUN
- GOOD LUCK FOX (Haydock 2-55) – straight win
- IMPROVISE (Haydock 3-30) – straight win
- KING OF STARS (Pontefract 7-30) – straight win
- FOX DUTY FREE (Pontefract 6-00) – 20/80
- ETERNAL GLORY (Pontefract 5-30) – 20/80
I have indicated how I’d play them singly but if you are looking at trebles and up, consider e.w. as the likelihood of all five winning (which would be nice!), is odds against.
NOW THAT’S INTERESTING!
Tom Clover doesn’t send many to Haydock, just 13 runners to date….but he has won with five of them and his THEBEAUTIFULGAME was well supported overnight, 3/1 > 15/8. Since then the Queen’s runner IMPROVISE has seen good support in the same race, with everything else drifting. The last named has a Rockfel entry and has been punted this morning as if to say the improvement needed to take in that contest will be forthcoming today. I’d contemplate a reverse CSF.
COLE’S TO NEWCASTLE!
On the Tapeta at Newcastle, it might be a 20/80 SANITISER (2-45), produces something. One of five making handicap debut in that race he represents Paul & Oliver Cole who have sent just six here under heir joint licence, winning with two. they have a nice 25% record with first time runners in handicaps and the stats make the current 10/1 worth a shekel or two.
DO NOT STAKE MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE, KEEP IT FUN AND IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE SUCCESS, ENJOY IT. IF YOU LOSE, DON’T LET IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
