I’ll be at Anfield tonight to watch Liverpool taking on Leicester. We lost at their place in December but at our place they’ll have little or no chance, especially given the way they are playing right now and the fact we’ve won our last 5 home games and are unbeaten in 14. Also, no team does the double on us in a season. Not since the 2015-2016 season anyway.

In Leicester’s last 10 trips to Anfield, that have lost 8 and drawn 2 and in their last 7 away games they’ve got 3 drawns and lost 4, letting in 21 goals at the same time. If they lose tonight (which they will), it’ll be the first time they’ve lost 3 away Prem games on the bounce since 2018.

Mane and Salah are back from the Africa Cup of Nations tournament but I’ll be surprised if he plays either of them. I wont actually be that bothered if Salah doesn’t play because for whatever reason, he doesn’t ever do much against Leicester, since Brendan Rodgers went there. They have played his team 4 times and Salah has just one goal and no assists. Looks like Brendan has his number.

It really has been a weird season as I keep saying, and this will be Leicester’s second away game in the Prem since Boxing Day. I’ve long given up on winning the Prem this time around because of it being “Covid ruined”. Our squad is nothing like as deep as City’s. They could put out 2 teams to beat anyone each week.

We will beat Leicester tonight but I never bet on my own teams games. Lots will depend on who Klopp puts out. Jota is quiet right now, he has gone 4 games without a goal, Mane and Salah might, or might not, play and I’ll be happy with 2-0, which will pay 13/2

I fancy Wolves here. They have only lost once to Arsenal in the last 6 meetings and are on a really good run of form, winning their last 3 games. They’ve never won 4 Prem matches in a row before so we could see a bit of history being made. The last time they won 4 top flight games on the bounce was 1972 and I was still at school then.

This is Arsenal’s first away game in the league since Boxing Day. They won 5-0 at Norwich then but I’d have got a pub team out to do that to the Canaries back then.

They cannot buy a goal right now and have not scored in their last 4 games in all competitions. The last time they went 5 George Graham was in charge, 1990!

Wolves will most likely make it 5 because only Man City have a better defensive record this season, than Wolves. The home team have only let in 16 goals this season, they won at Utd in early January, 1-0, they battered Southampton, who are playing well, 3-1 in the middle of January and then won 2-1 at Brentford.

By comparison, Arsenal went out of both cups and didn’t win a game last month so how do the bookmakers make them favourites tonight? Wolves love playing Arsenal and have won 3 and drawn 2 of the five games they’ve played since Wolves came back into the Prem.

If Wolves win tonight they will move above Arsenal in the table and sit 6th so plenty of incentive there.
