If you look back at weekend results following midweek European games, you will see some really strange results and as I said yesteday, I rarely, if ever, bet omn the weekend after those games.
City getting whacked at home yesterday by Spurs, Liverpool going a goal down at home to Norwich before getting their act together, players that are left out of the squad like Alexander-Arnold yesterday. You cannot place faith in anything much right now anyway but those games don’t help.
LEEDS V MAN UTD
I cannot believe Utd are in the top 4 now. It’s like I’ve said though, outside the top 3, the rest are poor, inconsistent and unpredicable. Utd have a goal difference of just +8, Spurs are 7th with 0 goal difference, Wolves are 8th with +4 and every team below them is in deficit.
The top 3 sides are Chelsea +31, Liverpool +44 and City +46. That tells you the tale of how the league is now.
If stats can find me bet here then I need to consider that Leeds are not playing well at the moment losing 5 of their last 8 and that only Norwich have conceeded more goals than Leeds this season. They have also lost 2 of their last 3 at home.
Utd are now unbeaten in their last 6 on the road but 3 times they have been winning games only to end up dropping points against Villa, Burnley and Chelsea.
Utd managed to get a clean sheet last time but they have gone 49 games unable to keep 2 successive clean sheets. Varane is back today though and that’ll help.
Leeds have let in a massive 26 goals in the 9 games since their last clean sheet and while it gives me a headache thinking Utd will win this afternoon, I’ll take a couple of paracetamol and bet they do.
