Leicester v Crystal Palace – 10/04/22

Crystal Palace have sneaked unseen into 9th place in the league on level points with Leicester, who are 10th.

Leicester have 2 games in hand and have been playing well enough recently, just 1 defeat in their last 5 games but winning 3 of them. They have also only been beaten once at home in their last 8 but Palace are also on a great run, unbeaten away from home in their last five and if they don’t bet beaten today they equal the clubs record in the top league that they achieved in 1990 and 1992.

Leicester have been Palace’s bogey team away from Selhurst Park though, losing on their last 2 trips to Leicester.

Vieira has really got Palace tight at the back as they have not conceded a goal in any of their last 4 games.

With Vardy now injury prone and missing games Iheanacho has stepped up for Leicester and scored 13 goals and had 5 assists in his last 20 starts in the Prem and on the other hand we know Zaha has netted 6 times for Palace against Leicester and that makes them his favourite team to play against.

Leicester have a problem defending corners and have let 11 goals in from that set piece this season. You can bet Vieira has been working on that weakness in training.

Palace will have to be right on it to stop Leicester scoring today because they have hit the back of the net in their last 8 at home and last time they met at the King Power, Leicester thrashed them 3-1.

The games between these 2 sides usually has an average of close to 3 goals per game and I was going to go for a narrow home win but with them safe and a Europa League game on Thursday, and with Rodgers saying he wants to win that, I’m going to go for a Palace win. The grapevine is saying Rodgers is going to rest players today so I have no choice really do I.

  • PALACE TO WIN @ 9/5
  • PALACE TO WIN 2-0 @ 12/1
