Reading the markets

0

The ability to read the markets, from the moment they open, is vital in the search for winners of horse races and yesterday amply demonstrated that to be an absolute fact.

Many horses will fluctuate, a good few, owned by syndicates, will most definitely indicate serious interest before they revert back to their natural market positions. That is because every syndicate member….and their friends….are having fivers each way and the trading rooms have a knee jerk reaction.

Some though, as was demonstrated yesterday, require very close monitoring and this means a good few hours spent looking at screens….in my case, three of the darned things, blinking at me constantly.

I made my subscribed membership aware that three horses, running at Lingfield and Newcastle, were very strong, or strong. This was the full list of what I call OMM’s (overnight market movers), plus, the movers that had occurred since they received their first Newsletter, just before 7-00am. I warned them off betting at bath, full stop!

BATH

THIS MEETING COMES VERY MUCH WITH A “WEALTH WARNING”, AS THEY HAVE HAD 14MM OF RAIN OVERNIGHT, EXPECT AT LEAST 3MM MORE BEFORE RACING AND FOR SURE NOTHING IS “STRONG” THERE TODAY. QUITE THE OPPOSITE.

THE TWO ALL WEATHER MEETINGS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT ONE HORSE HAS BEEN HEAVILY SUPPORTED, WATCHYA IN THE LINGFIELD 6-40PM.

VERY MUCH A DAY TO KEEP YOUR BETTING BANK WARPPED UP IN COTTON WOOL!

As you can see, many horses are spotted up as “movers”, but sorting the wheat from the chaff, by highlighting those considered very strong, or strong, can reap dividends.

Yesterday we had three such horses:

WATCHYA – VERY STRONG – WON 6/1 > 3/1

SMITH – STRONG – WON 7/2 > 5/4

THAKI – STRONG – WON 8/1 > 10/3

You can also see horses that were advised as OMM’s in the first newsletter, have been drifting by the time the second Newsletter goes out with the members updates, examples being 5-10 – RETURN TO DUBAI – 9/2 > 10/3 > 6/1 and 6-00 – LIZZIE JEAN – 16/1 > 7/1 > 16/1

A few “movers” are, let’s say, “engineered” by the layers. They artificially move horses in the markets to suck people in. That is why it is always best to wait for the update Newsletter before making any selections for betting.

The three highlighted yesterday produced a 38/1 treble to industry SP.

The will not always do that, more often playing a treble loses you money but if you are a fun punter, betting within his/her means, not getting carried away by a success, or beating yourself up over a losing bet, then when these come along they give you a great family night out.

Unless you are betting for a living, that is what your betting should be about.
