ThoroughBid brought down the virtual hammer in their Midsummer Sale with top lot Postmark for £50,000 along with Flash Bulb who fetched £10,000 for Joseph O’Brien.
ThoroughBid’s next auction will be the September Sale with bidding beginning on Friday 16th September.
Alex Elliot, consignment agent on behalf of Ralph Beckett, said: “This was our first time selling with ThoroughBid and the whole process was excellent from start to finish.
“From the profiling of the horses to the auction itself, ThoroughBid got it right. Going forward, the platform is going to be an essential part of selling our stock.”
Milton Harris, purchaser of Postmark, said: “We’re delighted with the purchase of Postmark for £50,000. He was bought on spec to go juvenile hurdling and prior to the sale I spoke with a few jockeys that had ridden him before who agreed that they could see him going juvenile hurdling.
“He looks a really nice type, and we’ll give him a little break before we get to the drawing board and work out some plans for him.
“The whole process is so easy with ThoroughBid, I’ve been an unsuccessful bidder in a previous sale before so it’s nice to get this one over the line.
“Whether the traditionalists like it or not, it’s definitely the way of the future and I couldn’t recommend ThoroughBid enough.”
James Richardson, CEO of ThoroughBid, said: “It’s always nice to have great feedback from new consigners and bidders alike in Alex Elliot and Milton Harris.
“Postmark topped our sale at £50,000 and we all are looking forward to following him with Milton Harris as he embarks on a juvenile hurdling campaign.
“We’re now counting down to our next sale on Friday 16th September where we will have an exciting catalogue to mark the anniversary of our very first sale.”
