Tony’s Tuesday’s Prem Predictions

Four games tonight but I’m not tipping anything up until things settle down. The results we are seeing are daft so I’ll look at each game, tell you what I think and if you see a bet and must bet, on your own head be it.

I like Palace. They are playing well against the bigger sides and on head to head you would fancy them to win or draw tonight because they have not lost a game in 7 against Brentford.

At home Palace are hard to beat and have won 4 of their last 6 and Brentford seem to hate playing midweek in the Prem because they have lost all 6 games played between Monday and Thursday since they arrived in the Prem.

I expect Palace to score tonight even if Zaha is out because Brentford have conceded a goal in their last 18 games away from home.

I’ll say a Palace win @ 11/10

Brighton are sitting 4th in the Prem with 10 points from the first 4 games and have the same number of points as both City and Spurs. Just 4th on goal difference. If they win tonight they’ll go top, even if it is for just 24 hours.

Fulham have also started the season well with 4 points from the first 2 games at Craven Cottage and their main man Mitrovic loves playing Brighton. He has netted 3 goals in 2 games against the Seagulls and on his day, is impossible to defend against. Always seems to blow a bit hot and cold for me though, otherwise a bigger side would have had him away from Fulham ages ago.

As good as he can be, Brighton’s defence is absolutely brickwall. They have already kept 3 clean sheets in 4 games this season and have also kept 7 successive clean sheets against teams that have just been promoted and they are also on a 9 match unbeaten run.

I’m really impressed with Brighton’s manager and while it might be a pure coincidence Fulham’s manager has lost the last 5 Prem games in which he has sent out a team against one managed by an English manager.

I have a sneaky feeling Brighton will pinch this 1-0 @ 13/2

Chelsea are having a mare at the back right now and sit 6th in the league with a -1 goal difference. Southampton are even worse at the back and are 13th on -4.

Chelsea have hit the back of the net against the Saints in each of their last 17 away games and the home side have let in 38 goals in their last 16 Prem matches with just the 1 clean sheet and no side has lost more Prem games that Southampton since March of this year, and have lost 6 of their last 8 home leagues games.

I can see goals in this one, with Chelsea winning, probably 2-1 or 3-1. Mason Mount loves playing Southampton and has scored 4 and set up 1 in the 4 games he has played against them so I’ll have him up as 1st goalscorer.

Mason Mount to score 1st and Chelsea to win 3-1 pays 83/1.

Away from home Everton are shocking. They have won only 1 of their last 19 away games and lost 14 of them. Head to head stats give them a squeak because Leeds have not managed to beat Everton at home since 2001.

Leeds have started this season really well considering how they finished last season. To see them sitting 5th in the league right now just proves me right when I say this season right now is weird.

I’m not sure what is going on at Everton and I don’t see the signing of Maupay as anything like a replacement for Richarlison. He’s decent, will get a few goals against bottom half sides and he works hard but something is way off beam at Goodison.

Leeds have won their opening 2 home games and I expect them to make it 3 tonight. They have now lost only 4 of their last 14 Prem games and those defeats came against Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Brighton.

Everton have had their worst start to a season in 12 years and are 4 games without a win. All Leeds have to do is keep Gordon quiet and I see an easy win for the home team.

Without a doubt their main man is Rodrigo, who has scored in both home games this season and if he scores tonight he’ll be the first Leeds player to score in 3 consecutive home games at the start of a season since 1992.

I’ll say Leeds 3-0 @ 16/1 and it’s 79/1 Rodrigo 1st goal and 3-1.
