A European League acca for you!

I am absolutely loving the new look Goal Posts website. Incredible.

The challenge to find four games tomorrow I feel I can get results from BTTS/RESULT has been taken up and whilst we have no games here, plenty is going on abroad. I will also put this on The World Of Sport website, too.

As with our own leagues it is still very early to be thinking we’ll have stats and tends we can rely on. If that was the case Liverpool would be top of the Premier League instead of looking just half the side they were last season (sorry, Tony).

Only five games in but the away aide are in fine form, sitting fourth, whilst Sassuolo are four points and eight places below them.

Udinese has won 60% of their games to date, Sassuolo just 20% and on current form, which I have pointed out is not something to rely on just yet, Udinese would seemingly have a 19% better chance of winning than the home side, based on points per game at this period of the season.

The home side are playing very well on their own pitch but the new Udinese manager, Andrea Sottil, has his side playing and even this early in the season, Sottil will feel they can be fancied for Europe next term. They took Roma apart in their last game winning 4-0, and prior to that had beaten Fiorentina 1-0, both games on their own pitch.

These two side have met 18 times before, with Udinese winning seven, seven have been drawn, and the home side has won four but the last five games have seen tomorrows away side winning three, two drawn. they are actually undefeated in their last eight against Sassuolo.

Udinese have conceded a goal in all away games so far this season but tomorrow play a side that have only scored three in the five games played. the only other two sides in the division to have scored three or less, are in the Series A relegation zone.

  • BTTS – NO @ 13/10
  • UDINESE TO WIN @ 17/10
  • UDINESE TO WIN 2-0 @ 12/1

KOLN V FC UNION BERLIN (Kick-off Sunday 2-30pm)

The Bundesliga is also just five games old so we again have to be cautious of what the early trends and stats are telling us.

The home side are currently sixth in the league, with Union Berlin just two points better off and two places better off, sitting fourth.

Neither side has been shy in front of goal so far those season and they have netter 22 times between them already. Union Berlin has scored a brace more than their opponents tomorrow. Both sides are currently unbeaten and Union Berlin held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw last time out, that following a huge 6-1 away win at Schalke 04.

Recent head to head form very much favours the away side too. They have won six of the last seven games against Cologne but the least game finished 2-2 and I can see something similar tomorrow.

If I watch any game tomorrow it will be this one. It really does look like a game that will be end to end, with goals.

They were the draw monsters of the Bundesliga last season, Cologne with 10, Union Berlin with nine. They topped the draw charts in the Bundesliga top 10 last term.

Cologne does have a bit of a problem with injuries right now, and they lost their goalscorer, Anthony Modeste, who got himself 20 league goals last season and tomorrow they’ll most likely rely on Tigges and Thielmann.

I’m fancying a score draw tomorrow and a great game of football.

  • BTTS – YES @ 4/6
  • DRAW @ 23/10
  • 2-2 @ 11/1

The draw and BTTS is currently around 16/5

FC LORIENT V FC NANTES (Kick-off Sunday 2-00pm)

Funny old game, football. The home side just about managed to stave off relegation and yet here we are, six games into their programme, and they sit sixth. They have won four of those games, scoring 11 goals. It should also be pointed out, they have conceded nine.

The away side are not having a good time of it right now. They have won just one of their opening six matches and are 13th. Just six goals scored and eight conceded. Their biggest problem is they lost their main striker, Randal Kolo Muani on a free to Frankfurt and tomorrow they face a player who is in terrific form, Terem Moffi, who has already netted five times and is only one goal behind Mbappe and Neymar.

I’m not sure what they are feeding the players over there but it must be raw. Only four teams have yet to have a player sent off and the home side tomorrow are one of them.

On head to heads you would favour Nantes, who have won three of the last four, the other was drawn but until they find someone with shooting boots to replace Muani, they are going to struggle in front of goal.

I’m thinking this will be a home win but that both sides will hit the back of the net. The home sides defence definitely needs looking at.

  • BTTS – YES @ 4/5
  • HOME WIN @ 5/4
  • 2-1 @ 8/1

MONACO V OLYMPIC LYONAIS (Kick-off Sunday 7-45pm)

The last game of Ligue 1 tomorrow and this will be like watching two prize fighters slugging it out. Both sides will simply go all out to win so expect plenty of goals. they average 3.17 goals per game so if you bet overs, then over 2.5 looks a gift here. The layers know this too and it’ll price up short.

History suggests one or the other will win it, just four of the previous 24 games between them have ended all square, but who wins?

If we trust to the league table it’s an away win. Olympic Lyonnais sit fourth, with Monaco in 10th and five points also separates them.

It could be the home side are starting to find a bit of form as they won 1-0 away in Europe and playing away from home does seem to be giving Olympique Lyonnais problems as they have not yet managed a win on the road this term. The home team though, have yet to win at home?

Last season both sides won their home games 2-0 but I’m thinking this might be 2-2 and with most of the goals coming second half.

Lacazatte has settled back in at Lyon very quickly and has already hit four in six games so the 7/4 he scores tomorrow is fair enough.

  • BTTS – YES @ 4/9
  • DRAW @ 27/10
  • 2-2 @ 9/1
